How do I set up a new secure email account on my iPhone?

These instructions are specific to iOS 5 and work on iPad as well as iPhone. If you are using a different version of iOS, the steps may vary slightly.

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. You'll see a list of accounts. Tap the one you want to change. A window will popup.
  4. If there is the heading IMAP skip down to Steps for IMAP users below. Otherwise continue with the following steps.
  5. Under the heading Outgoing Mail Server tap SMTP.
  6. Under the heading Primary Server there will be one item (probably labelled relay.wowiwa.net). Tap this.
  7. Change the following:
    Host name: mail.wowiwa.net
    Use SSL: ON
    Server port: 465
  8. Tap Done. The iPhone will verify this connection which may take a while (several minutes!)
  9. Tap the Back button (which will be labelled the name of your account).
  10. Tap Advanced.
  11. Change the following:
    Use SSL: ON
    Server port: 995
(Host name should already read mail.wowiwa.net)
  12. Tap the Back button (which will be labelled the name of your account).
  13. Tap Done. (That's it. Ignore the steps below.)
